“I am already in the taxi”: the scam that nearly owned his night

The price rose, the phone number changed, then money was needed “for the driver.” Pavel stopped one second before sending it.

Pavel checked into a hotel by Perm II late at night. He found an outcall listing, agreed on midnight, and stepped into the shower. While the mirror fogged, a message arrived from a different number: “It is me, my old phone died. I am already in the taxi—send two thousand to the driver.”

The screen looked almost convincing: same name, a heart emoji, urgent timing. One detail did not match—the public card showed another contact. Then the agreed rate increased “because it is night,” the departure point jumped from Sverdlovsky to Gaiva, and an unknown driver began calling him directly.

Pavel opened his banking app. Then he closed it.

Arousal is a terrible accountant

He returned to the original Intim59 listing and wrote through the contact printed there. The actual owner of the card replied that she had sent nobody. Pavel saved the chat, listing URL, and payment details, then reported them to support. The night did not become less adult because he refused to be hurried.

The dangerous part is rarely a deposit alone. It is the combination: a swapped contact, changed rate, unknown link, request for documents or a banking code, and anger at a calm question. When red flags travel as a pack, do not invent a romantic explanation for them.

A good refusal is short

“The terms and contact do not match the listing. I will not transfer money, and this conversation is over.” That is enough. There is no prize for proving intelligence to a scammer. Do not share room numbers, identity papers, or banking codes; a hotel name or landmark is sufficient to estimate travel.

Pavel ordered food, opened verified listings, and chose a card on the same bank. His story ended without a naked woman at the door, but also without stolen money. Some nights, that is the most satisfying finish available.
